All samples come from the same fictional study: “Examining the Relationship Between Social Media Use, Academic Procrastination and Sleep Quality in University Students”. Sources, authors and data are illustrative. The statistics tables, chart and citation formats were not written by hand; they were generated from this sample data by the system’s own tools. In your own work, the content comes from your sources and your data.

Before you write: problem, aim, questions, method and every section’s plan and word target on one screen.

Research problem

How university students’ time on social media relates jointly to academic procrastination and sleep quality is not well understood.

Aim

To examine the relationships between social media use, academic procrastination and sleep quality, and whether they differ by gender.

Method and design

Quantitative, correlational survey design.

Participants

Undergraduates; about 300 participants, convenience sampling (to be confirmed by power analysis).

Data collection

Demographic form, an academic procrastination scale and a sleep quality scale (licensed Turkish adaptations).

Analysis

Descriptives, Cronbach’s alpha, independent-samples t-test, Pearson correlation, multiple regression.

Research questions

2.3 Social Media Use and Academic Procrastination

Increased time on social media has been associated with students’ tendency to postpone academic tasks (Kaya, 2021). Screen use late at night in particular is reported to delay sleep onset and lower sleep quality (Demir & Aksoy, 2022; Lee et al., 2020).

Self-regulation skills are discussed as a protective factor in this relationship (Yılmaz, 2019). Whether this effect is the same across all age groups [CITATION NEEDED].

Unsupported claims are never invented: the system marks them “[CITATION NEEDED]” and offers to search for sources on that point.

Abstract

This study examined the relationships between social media use, academic procrastination and sleep quality among university students. A total of 120 undergraduates took part in this correlational survey. The procrastination scale showed high internal consistency (α = .89). Social media use was positively related to academic procrastination (r = .50), and procrastination was negatively related to sleep quality (r = -.62). Procrastination scores did not differ significantly by gender.

Reviewer commentOur responseChange
“Sampling from a single university limits generalisability.”A fair point. We added this to the limitations and recommend multi-site sampling for future studies.Limitations, p. 64
“Reliability coefficients of the scales are not reported.”We added Cronbach’s alpha coefficients to the Method section (Table 3).Method, Table 3, p. 38

Defence rehearsal

Pro and above

An AI jury asks questions specific to your thesis and evaluates your answers.

Jury question

Why did you choose convenience sampling, and how does it affect your findings?

Your answer

We used convenience sampling because of time and access constraints, so we were cautious about generalising and noted this in the limitations.

Evaluation

7/10

Strength: You acknowledge the limitation openly; juries respond well to this.

Improve: Add how you determined sample size (power analysis) and in which respects the sample resembles the population.
